Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark
Don’t be afraid of the dark. Rather, learn to walk in the light. This image of a solar eclipse is darker than I saw with my naked eye. During the total solar eclipse, I saw God’s glory. I saw two planets, the shadow of the moon, and only a little light from the sun. I felt blessed as I marveled at His creation at nearly high noon. It seemed like it would be easy to fall into the sky with the help of God’s hand!
I remembered what Jesus said in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” I also remembered stories about people fearing the end of the world when a solar eclipse occurred. Additionally, others have thought that eclipses were a bad omen. Yet, many who fear a perceived bad omen are like children afraid of the dark. However, these children, who know nothing about omens, inherently know something about the dark that adults have forgotten.
Some prefer the darkness.
Some prefer the darkness, for they have their plan.
Instead they should strongly consider Isaiah 59:1-4 Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. For your hands are stained with blood, your fingers with guilt. Your lips have spoken falsely, and your tongue mutters wicked things. No one calls for justice; no one pleads a case with integrity. They rely on empty arguments, they utter lies; they conceive trouble and give birth to evil.
And Isaiah 59:8-10
The way of peace they do not know; there is no justice in their paths. They have turned them into crooked roads; no one who walks along them will know peace. So justice is far from us, and righteousness does not reach us. We look for light, but all is darkness; for brightness, but we walk in deep shadows. Like the blind we grope along the wall, feeling our way like people without eyes. At midday we stumble as if it were twilight; among the strong, we are like the dead.

God is Light
In 1 John 1:5-7 it reads.
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
