This is A Blog For Charlie Kirk And The Rest Of Us who are left behind. On the day I received the news of the birth of my first grandchild, I also received the news of the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Dear God, you are the Almighty God, and you place people in the world at the right time and the right place to serve you and to do your will. As you receive one back to you, you place another here on this earth. You send defenseless babies to the world every day as you receive others back to you.
My mind is awash in thoughts. The world has so much evil in it. Yet, you sent a baby, Jesus, to save the world. God, you made us in your own image. Part of you that abhors evil and seeks good is in all of us when we are born. As we grieve the loss of great men like Mr. Kirk, we fear what lies in store for the defenseless newborns. We rejoice in knowing that Christians like Charlie are received back to you. And we rejoice that defenseless newborns are made in your image. They have the capacity (with the help of Jesus) to do great and wonderful things on your behalf while they reside here on earth.
Dear God, I pray with great concern for this evil world. May you place a thousand souls to stand in the gap created by the loss of Charlie Kirk. Let your Light shine through these souls and create a turning point to save our nation from the evil that presently plagues us.
May God give you a broad horizon. Amen
