A Shadow Of Things To Come

One doesn’t have to be much of a prophet to know some things. Sometimes the shadow of things to come looms large. Other times many of us don’t notice when the first few pebbles of change arrive. When the pebbles are noticed by the alert, those alert souls are scoffed at by the masses. If the alert ones’ observations are accepted, there are skeptics that dismiss the signs as insignificant. Even when loads of pebbles pile up, consideration of the proper response is debated. There can be enough signs of change coming to pave a road and the debate will begin on if the road leads to progress or if it is a road to damnation.

Discernment

Some folks don’t notice a shadow or anything until the equipment arrives. By then, it is too late to influence the decision to build a path to progress, to repair a way forward, or build a road to hell. It is said that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. We must learn to examine the pebbles collectively and not throw stones at individuals. We can lead or be ran over by the machinations of change. It is important to focus on our desired destination and not get stuck in the inevitable pot holes that occur.

Be Strong and Courageous

When the Israelites were camped along the Jordan River, God told them to be strong and courageous. God’s instruction to Joshua near the river Jordan is good advice for us today. We live further down the stream of time and most live no where near a promised land, yet it is imperative that we strive to know God’s will. Before we blaze a trail, we must know our road base is good and our path is in the right direction. Then, we can be strong and courageous no matter what shadows appear.
